About Peppermint

Pliny tells us that the Greeks and Romans crowned themselves with Peppermint at their feasts and adorned their tables with its sprays, and that their cooks flavored both their sauces and their wines with its essence.

Native Americans used peppermint long before Europeans arrived on the scene. Peppermint Oil contains several minerals and nutrients including Iron, Manganese, Magnesium, Folate, Calcium,
Potassium, Copper, Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C.

On the skin, Peppermint Oil has been used to relieve skin irritation caused by a number of ailments. Applying it in a 20% strength solution to skin is said to relieve symptoms of hives, poison ivy and poison oak. It has been used for dermatitis, acne, ringworm, scabies and pruritus and also relieves itching, sunburn and inflammation of the skin, while at the same time having a cooling effect. If you apply Peppermint Oil diluted in carrier oil to a fresh bruise, some say it will help to relieve the pain.


About Lemon

Like many essential oils, lemon oil contains antibacterial properties, which is partly the reason that it improves skin conditions such as acne. A study published in November 2006 in "BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine" found that lemon essential oil greatly suppressed tested bacteria strains. Lemon essential oil has been used for various skin conditions. The antibacterial effects are said to treat cuts and wounds on the skin so they can heal. Lemon essential oil has been used to soothe itchiness caused by bug bites, relieve eczema and similar skin conditions and improves signs of aging on the skin, such as age spots. Lemon oil has also been used for acne, due to its antibacterial and astringent qualities. Since it is astringent, it is believed to improve oily skin.


About Coconut Oil

Coconut oil contains antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial and soothing properties. It has been used extensively in tropical countries as a nutritious rinse for the hair, and as massage oil as it is an effective moisturizer. Some say coconut oil helps improve digestion, and strengthens the immune system. When applied on infections, it forms a chemical layer which protects the infected body part.
